Application and development of Ultrasonic testing technique in nondestructive testing

Ultrasonic nondestructive testing technique (UT) is one of five normal testing technique,comparing to other normal nondestructive testing technique,its targets are wide range,testing depth is big,accurately positioning flaw,testing sensitivity is high,cost is low,convenient to use,fast speed,have no harm to people and easy to operate in scene.

1 . Application of Ultrasonic testing technique

(1) currently ,amount of online inspection that apply to metal material and component quality online monitoring and products,such as steel plate,tube,welding ,welding layer,composite layer,pressure vessel and high pressure pipeline,rail,and vehicle parts, integrated circuit.   (2) Every new kind of material inspection,such as organic composite material, metal matrix composite material,structure ceramic material,ceramic matrix composite material,ultrasonic testing technique has been backbone of composite material.

(3)nonmetal inspection,such as concrete ,rock,pile foundation and road surface and other quality inspection,including internal flaw,internal stress,intensity.

(4) Inspection on Large scale structure,pressure vessel and complex device.due to ultrasonic imaging is direct and easy to understand,testing precision is high,therefore,recently our country integrates ultrasonic imaging technique and ultrasonic signal dealing technique and other scientific advanced achievement into ultrasonic robot testing system has been successfully developed, providing effective method for automatic scan ultrasonic imaging test to complex shapes components .(5) unclear power industry ultrasonic testing.(6) Other ultrasonic testing,such as medical diagnosis widely used for ultrasonic testing technique,currently people are trying to use ultrasonic testing technique to open up other new area and industry,such as people are trying to use ultrasonic testing technique to blood pressure control system as non-contact inspection、identification,property analysis and fault diagnosis。

2. Development of Ultrasonic testing technique 

In modern nondestructive testing technique,ultrasonic imaging technique is a 

Eye-catching new technique,ultrasonic image can provide direct and amount information,directly reflect acoustics and mechanical properties of object，have wide developing prospect。Nowadays ultrasonic imaging technique are combined with computer technique、signal collecting technique and image dealing technique。The properties and price ratio of Data collecting technique、image rebuild technique、automation and intelligent technique and ultrasonic imaging system directly affect the process of ultrasonic testing picturize。Modern ultrasonic imaging technique mostly have features of automation and intelligentize,and have a lot of advantages such as  testing consistency ,reliability,good repeatability ,the results can be used at any time,and compare to results automatically,so as to do dynamic test on flaw。  

Currently imaging technique that is using and developing are ultrasonic B scanning imaging,ultrasonic C scanning imaging,ultrasonic D scanning imaging ,SAFT imaging,P scanning imaging,ultrasonic holographic imaging ,ultrasonic CT imaging。
